Fundamentals of Railway Train Control and Signaling

Learn the fundamentals of today’s railway train control and signaling systems, such as Positive Train Control (PTC), along with the latest best practices and technologies. While you should already have a good understanding of PTC, you will learn more about why Positive Train Control is required, the base operating principles of Positive Train Control, and how to implement it. By knowing how train control and signaling systems are designed and operated, you will be able to increase railway capacity, reliability, and safety.  NOTE: The March 2021 offering of this course will be offered in four 4-hour modules in a live online format on Tuesday, March 2nd; Thursday, March 4th; Tuesday, March 9th; and Thursday, March 11th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM central time. Details on how to access the course will be sent with registration confirmation. No software is required to participate in the online course. The course is accessed via your internet browser.

Fundamentals of Railway Bridge Engineering and Management

Learn about basic railway bridge engineering and design under the AREMA Manual for Railway Engineering, and the latest design procedures, materials, and methods used in current railway bridge engineering practice. You will also learn the requirements for compliance with FRA 237, including bridge ratings and bridge management. Additionally, the course will include a special section on drone bridge inspections.

CWR and Thermal Forces Workshop
